Shopping, Dining, Festivals and More at Peddler's Village
Peddler’s Village is a countryside shopping, dining and entertainment destination in the heart of historic Bucks County, where colonial charm meets modern delights. Located in Lahaska, just 8 miles from the Inn at Bowman's Hill, this thriving attraction welcomes more than two million visitors from around the globe each year. It's so popular that it's been named the No. 1 tourist destination in the greater Philadelphia area by the Philadelphia Business Journal. Spend a day at Peddler's Village during your next Bucks County getaway and see what all the hype is about. You won't be disappointed!
When it was founded in 1962, Peddler's Village encompassed just six acres and included 14 shops and the Cock 'n Bull Restaurant. Over six decades later, Peddler's Village is now a 42-acre site boasting 70 unique specialty shops, six full-service restaurants, an on-property inn and Giggleberry Fair, a family entertainment center featuring a fully restored 1922 Philadelphia Toboggan Company carousel. The buildings, nestled amid winding brick pathways and award-winning gardens, reflect the architectural style of colonial America.
One of the primary draws of Peddler's Village is its charming collection of shops and boutiques. Here, you can stroll along the brick-lined pathways and explore a wide array of specialty stores offering everything from handmade crafts and jewelry to unique fashion finds and gourmet treats. The majority of the shops are small, locally owned businesses, meaning everything you find at Peddler's Village is specially curated for this location. Whether you're on the hunt for a one-of-a-kind gift or simply want to indulge in some retail therapy, Peddler's Village has you covered.
With all of that shopping, you're sure to work up an appetite. No worries, as the village is home to a diverse selection of restaurants, ranging from cozy cafes and pubs like Hart's Tavern to polished casual dining at Earl's New American with its contemporary cuisine. Of course, the Cock 'n Bull continues to serve as the flagship restaurant, offering hearty American fare, such as its signature chicken pot pye, in rooms richly appointed with Colonial-style decor. If you're not looking for a sit-down meal, opt for one of the quick-service eateries, or just stop in for a beverage at one of the tasting rooms. No matter what you choose, you're guaranteed a delicious bite and warm hospitality.
Don't forget about Peddler's Village's popular year-round festivals and seasonal events. This fall, Scarecrows in the Village features a hundred creative, colorful and spooky scarecrows created by Philadelphia-area residents and organizations. During OctoberFeast on Oct. 14-15, Peddler's Village puts a spin on the traditional German festival with a beer and food garden, wine and spirits, and live music. Get your fill of apple treats during the Apple Festival (Nov. 4-5) and take home a bushel fresh from local orchards. The winter holiday season gets underway with the Grand Illumination Celebration on Nov. 17, when Santa and his helpers flip the switch to illuminate a million holiday lights. The festivities continue on Dec. 2-3 for Holly Jolly Weekend with all-day festivities and Santa parades beginning both days at 1:30 p.m.
