Light Up the Vines on the Bucks County Wine Trail
Whether you prefer holiday decor to include oversized flickering bulbs in vibrant colors or the simple glow of all-white strings of lights, there's no denying that millions of twinkling lights help make the holiday season magical and bright. When you visit Bucks County in December, you'll find dazzling displays of lights adorning trees, outlining homes and businesses, draped across downtown streets, and woven through dormant grapevines. Yes, grapevines! Wineries on the Bucks County Wine Trail will get into the festive spirit by illuminating their vineyards. It's a must-see sight to include on your itinerary during your holiday stay with us at the Inn at Bowman's Hill.
Come for the lights, stay for the wine... or vice versa. Light Up the Vines gives wine lovers near and far even more reason to stop in for a tasting. This is the third year for the holiday vineyard lighting event, which officially begins the second weekend in December and continues through Jan. 1, 2023. Participating vineyards will flip the switch each evening at dusk, creating a beautiful and romantic scene of warm white lights against the backdrop of picturesque vineyards.
Along with the sparkling light show, guests can partake in offerings such as mulled wines, food trucks, cookie sampling, fire pits, holiday music and other activities, which vary by winery. The festivities all begin as part of the wine trail's Holiday Celebration December 10-11. In addition to the food, wine and general holiday cheer, guests can get a jump start on holiday shopping with special discount pricing on bottles of wine, gift packs and baskets, and unique wine accessories.
Each of the seven wineries on the Bucks County Wine Trail will ring in the holiday in their own unique way. Crossing Vineyards and Winery is the closest vineyard to the Inn at Bowman's Hill, just 10 minutes away. They'll kick off the festive Christmas season with a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus, hot mulled wine and seasonal cocktails, specialty food and wine pairings, and live music. At Buckingham Valley Vineyards and Winery you can sip some warm Holiday Spice (their seasonal sweet red wine) and snack on homemade holiday cookies while you shop for the wine lovers on your Christmas list. Rose Bank Winery is kicking off their vineyard illumination a week earlier on December 3, when you can enjoy live acoustic music, light hors d’oeuvres and a complimentary glass of Rose Bank wine.
